Thibaut Courtois vs Atletico Madrid

Thibaut Courtois' goal was somewhat tense because Atletico Madrid supporters were insulting the Belgian, who used to play for them. Diego Simeone and Koke attempted to defuse the situation, but for some reason Atleti supporters were out of control.

After many Atletico Madrid supporters threw objects at Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who spent three seasons playing for Los Rojiblancos on loan from Chelsea, the game had to be stopped. Diego Simeone and Koke made an effort to reason with the home crowd, but they still made a fuss.  The match might have had to be canceled for the day and rescheduled if this hadn't stopped.

The game had to be temporarily stopped, but after 20 minutes it resumed. Despite the restart, the Atletico Madrid supporters booed Courtois for the remainder of the match. Diego Simeone was also seen pointing to his head in an attempt to make the fans realise that their actions won’t be good for the club.

Eder Militao breaks the deadlock in the Madrid derby

At the Wanda Metrapolitano, Real Madrid took the lead against Atletico Madrid in the second half of their derby. On a high-stakes evening in the Spanish capital, both teams hope to build on their undefeated starts to begin the La Liga season.

Before the break, Los Blancos were limited to long-range attempts in the first half, which was as tight and nasty as anticipated. There were no serious chances at either end. With the second half picking up speed, Real Madrid took advantage of the unexpected presence of Eder Militao to take the lead.

After a swiftly awarded free kick exposed the hosts' defence, Vinicius Junior's low cross found Militao, who sent a shot towards the bottom corner. Jan Oblak, the goalkeeper for Atletico, denied goals to Jude Bellingham as well as Federico Valverde earlier during the first half. However, Thibaut Courtois also produced a brilliant stop to maintain parity in the first half's score. Despite his brilliance, Vinicius Jr. was unable to motivate Madrid to extend their lead.
