Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian football superstar, delivered a stinging blow on former Super Eagles manager Finidi George during an intense Instagram Live session. The Napoli striker, who is known for his enthusiasm and dedication towards the Nigerian national team, minced no words while responding to Finidi's claimed assertion that he was not going to beg Osimhen to make an appearance for the Super Eagles. These claimed remarks from the recently dismissed coach occurred following Osimhen's unavailability from Nigeria's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification games versus South Africa and Benin Republic.

In a spectacular 10-minute diatribe, a visibly irate Osimhen ripped on Finidi, stating that he had shed any regard for his former Super Eagles hero. He said, "I will post the pictures also and the screenshots I had when I spoke to Finidi George (after he was appointed) because you all believe that someone keeping quiet because he is a footballer, ogun kill anybody, any of you that believe (I didn't want to play for Nigeria)."

The former Lille striker added, "You can talk nonsense. I have lost respect I have for that man (Finidi), I have lost it all. I swear to God I have lost it now because why? I called him, told him to allow me come to the camp to be with the boys, I have all these recorded, to come talk to the boys,"

What’s next for Victor Osimhen and Nigeria?

The 25-year-old striker's violent outburst sheds insight on the seeming breakdown of interaction and confidence involving him as well as the former coaching staff, revealing the strained connection that may have led to Finidi's eventual exit.

Osimhen's passionate outburst demonstrates his unwavering devotion to serving Nigeria at what is the highest level, as well as his displeasure with the apparent lack of insight from the previous coaching staff. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is certain to want to address these concerns and reestablish harmony within the national team structure as they look for Finidi's replacement.
