WATCH: Gulshan Jha in tears after he is run-out in unlucky fashion to hand South Africa close win

Nepal endure a close 1-run loss to South Africa after young Gulshan Jha gets run out in the most heart breaking manner in St. Vincent on Friday.

Nepal Cricket team have officially bowed out of the T20 World Cup not before giving the South Africans a run for their money. It was a heart-breaking end to the game as Nepal lost by just 1 run to end their hopes of reaching the Super-8 stages. It was an anti-climatic end as Gulshan Jha the youngster was down on his haunches. 

Ottneil Baartman ran into bowl the last ball of the match with Needing to score two runs from the last ball, the South African bowled the ball short. Gulshan Jha missed the ball as Quinton De Kock the South African keeper gathered the ball. Just before the ball was bowled De Kock had asked Markram to bring all the fielders closer to the batters. 

If Gulshan Jha had completed the run we would have witnessed the third super-over of the tournament. De Kock spotting the batter trying to make it to the danger end was quick to release the ball. Heinrich Klaasen collected the ball on the bounce and threw it towards the stumps. 

This is where the entire drama unfolded as the confident South Africans began to celebrate. Umpire Joel Wilson though sent it upstairs for the checks to be completed. Once the replay was out it was seen that the ball had hit the back of Gulshan Jha’s bat and ricocheted back onto the stumps as the youngster was found short of his crease. 

South Africa head into next phase of the tournament unbeaten 

The South African side were put into bat after Nepal skipper Rohit Paudel won the toss. Quinton De Kock fell early after scoring 10 runs while Aiden Markram could only score 15 before being dismissed. 

Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller scored 3 and 7 respectively as the Nepal bowlrs started to exert control. Reeza Hendricks was the best batter for South Africa scoring 43 runs from 49 balls with 5 fours and a six. Tristan Stubbs then came towards the back end of the innings to score an unbeaten 27 off 19 balls to help the Proteas to 115. 

Khushal Bhurtel was the best bowler for Nepal as he picked 4/19 from his 4 overs. Dipendra Singh Airee was the second best bowler with figures of 3/21 from his entire quota of 4 overs. 

Asif Sheikh top scored for Nepal with 42 off 49 balls while Anil Sah scored 27 runs off 24 balls. Veteran spinner Tabraiz Shamsi was the lead bowler for the Proteas as he picked 4/19 to help his team win the close contest and stay unbeaten in the tournament.
