Meanwhile, Benfica welcomed Monaco to the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Atalanta clashed with Club Brugge at Gewiss Stadium, and Bayern Munich faced Celtic at the Allianz Arena. Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich took on Scottish powerhouses Celtic at their home ground. Bayern headed into the fixture with a 2-1 lead from the first leg. Celtic led the fixture till the 94th minute with a goal from Kuhn but couldn't hold onto their lead. Bayern moved into the next round beating Celtic 3-2 on aggregate.
The Belgian team, Club Brugge stunned Serie A giants Atalanta as they demolished them 1-3 at Gewiss stadium and hence achieved a comprehensive 2-5 victory on aggregate. Talbi's double in the third and 27th minute and Julgla's brace in the 45+3rd minute made it almost impossible for the home side to stage a comeback. Lookman netted a goal in the 46th minute for Atalanta.
Benfica edged past Ligue One Club Monaco after playing an exciting 3-3 draw at their home ground. A match that saw both teams scoring first only for the other to net an equalise. Both teams had led at different times of the game, but neither of them was successful in holding onto their lead. Benfica won 4-3 on aggregate to move into the next round.
Eredivisie club Feyenoord caused a major upset by holding Serie A giants AC Milan to a 1-1 draw at San Siro, ultimately defeating them 2-1 on aggregate. The match got off to a strong start for AC Milan, who scored in the opening minute. However, the turning point came early in the second half when Milan's key fullback, Theo Hernandez, received a controversial red card. Feyenoord took advantage of the situation and equalized in the 73rd minute, ultimately securing the draw to advance in the competition.
