Tamworth welcomed Premier League powerhouse Tottenham Hotspur to the Lamb Ground for an exciting FA Cup third-round match this Sunday. As a National League team, Tamworth aimed to showcase their talent and aspirations by taking on a formidable opponent in hopes of achieving an upset.

Meanwhile, Tamworth sought to create a formidable challenge for their Premier League rivals on their small ground featuring an artificial pitch, adding an extra layer of difficulty to the encounter.
The tale of the fixture
The second-division side, Tamworth, astonishingly held Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur to a goalless scoreline till the natural playtime. However, the Premier League side proved their mettle in the extra time as they racked in three goals to win the fixture 3-0.
In the 100th minute of extra time, Tamworth conceded a devastating goal. Porro took a shot from long range upon being played in a short pass by Johnson. Both Bergvall and Solanke attempted to make contact but missed, leading to an unfortunate own goal credited to the substitute.
