Premier League football club, Tottenham Hotspur are exploring options regarding Son Heung-min's future as he enters the final year of his contract. Having joined the team in 2015, Son has been a key player for the club over the past decade, establishing himself as one of the Premier League's leading strikers.
Son Heung-min has enjoyed an impressive tenure at Tottenham Hotspur, contributing to over 10 seasons with 169 goals and 60 assists across 428 official club fixtures. Throughout his time at the club, he has achieved numerous milestones, including being named the Premier League's top scorer and holding records for the most joint goals in the league. Additionally, he set a record for the most goals scored in a single season by an Asian player in European football.
Tottenham Hotspur are yet to offer a new contract to Son
Son's contract is set to expire in June next year. As of now, there has been no announcement regarding his renewal, which has led to fans speculating about his future.
The transfer rumours have been rampant. Recently, he has been linked to top clubs, including Galatasaray in Turkiye, as well as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Premier League heavyweights Manchester United.
Tottenham Hotspur looks set to activate the one-year contract extension option for Son Heung-min, a clause that was included in his four-year renewal signed in 2021.
The Premier League club is currently taking a cautious approach regarding Son Heung-min, who is now in his 30s. As a result, there is growing anticipation around the future of the partnership between Tottenham and Son Heung-min. It's only a matter of time when the fans will get to know, whether Son will be provided an extension or call it a day with mutual consent.
"Tottenham is expected to activate the option to extend the contract with Son Heung-min. If Son Heung-min does not agree to renew the contract, he will sell it for a transfer fee." Fabrizio Romano said in a recent interview.
