Kyle Walker's wife, Annie Kilner, has been encouraged to prioritise emotional well-being over financial considerations as she navigates her marital situation.

After facing some challenges in their relationship, Kilner had initiated divorce proceedings. However, following a heartfelt family reunion during the Christmas holidays, she appears to have taken a step back, choosing to pause the divorce process for the time being.

Annie has called off her plans to divorce the Manchester City defender, who has unexpectedly submitted a transfer request. City manager Pep Guardiola announced that Walker has informed him of his desire to leave this month to play for a club abroad.

Walker to head to Saudi Arabia

Recent reports have suggested a potential transfer for Walker to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, where he could earn an impressive £400,000 per week. Interestingly, sources close to the couple indicate that Kilner’s change of heart may not be related to the financial benefits of such a move.

It’s important to remember that Kilner had previously aimed for a share of Walker’s £27 million fortune during their divorce negotiations. However, the recent family discussions have sparked hope that the couple might be moving towards reconciliation instead of separation.

"Annie is no fool. She sought legal advice about the finances last year and knows that the deal in Saudi is worth a lot," a source said.

“Annie says it’s not about the cash but keeping their family together, yet his earning potential is something she will have thought about," the source added.

While Walker’s personal life may attract attention, his professional career is undeniably at a crossroads. The experienced defender was omitted from Manchester City’s squad for the FA Cup third-round match against Salford City. With strong indications that the club is aggressively seeking defensive reinforcements, including potential signings like Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens and Vitor Reis from Palmeiras, Walker’s importance in Pep Guardiola’s plans is likely to wane significantly.
