England is going to have a foreign head coach in charge for the first time after 2010 under Fabio Capello. After fruitful negotiations with the Football Association (FA), German Thomas Tuchel was officially announced as the new Three Lions manager this Wednesday.
One of the most accomplished managers in Europe, Tuchel has been unemployed since leaving his position as the manager of Bayern Munich towards the conclusion of the previous season, when the team had their first trophy-less season in more than ten years.
While England's current temporary manager, Lee Carsley, stated this past weekend that he intended to go back to the role as the manager of England's U21s, the 51-year-old's backroom staff is anticipated to consist of both FA and his own personnel.
It is believed that Tuchel's deal will include an added benefit for lifting the World Cup. During the summer of 2026, the next competition will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Internationally recognized English trainer Anthony Barry will support him, and the two will start working with the squad on January 1, 2025.

Thomas Tuchel released a statement after being announced the new manager of England. He said, “I am very proud to have been given the honour of leading the England team. I have long felt a personal connection to the game in this country, and it has given me some incredible moments already. To have the chance to represent England is a huge privilege, and the opportunity to work with this special and talented group of players is very exciting.
The former Chelsea head coach added, “Working closely with Anthony as my assistant coach, we will do everything we can to make England successful and the supporters proud. I want to thank the FA, in particular Mark and John, for their trust and I am looking forward to starting our journey together.”
