Thomas Müller posts an emotional farewell message for Bayern Munich
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich's long-time serving footballer Thomas Müller has decided to call it a day at Allianz Arena. Muller dropped a bombshell announcement on his Instagram regarding his future at Bayern Munich.
The 35-year-old Striker, who has spent his entire life at Bayern, is set to bid farewell to the club after this season. He also made shocking revelations on his Instagram.
Müller has been a pivotal presence at Bayern Munich for more than two decades. However, he is now poised to leave following a shocking announcement that the club is unwilling to offer him a new contract, despite his desire to continue with the Bavarian giants.
The 35-year-old debuted for Bayern Munich in 2009 and has dedicated 16 years to the club, amassing 32 trophies, including two Champions League titles and 12 Bundesliga championships. There is no denying that he will depart as a legend. However, he could have a fairy tale ending at Allianz Arena should Bayern Munich claim the European crown this season.
penned down an emotional overview surrounding his situation at Bayern Munich. He asserted that he respected the club's decision to not offer him a renewal.
"However, the club has consciously decided not to negotiate a new contract with me for next season. Even if this was not in line with my personal wishes, it is important that the club follows its convictions. I respect this step, which the board and supervisory board certainly did not take lightly." Thomas Müller wrote.
"I understandably did not like the back and forth in public over the past weeks and months. However, I treat it like I do with my football: It wasn't always characterized by perfection either, but rather with a positive, forward-thinking approach to the next action. After a bad pass, the key is to win the ball back with team unity. We have achieved this in recent days through trusting discussions." Thomas Müller wrote.
Muller concluded with his dream of bringing European glory for one last time before bidding goodbye to his beloved club.
"Now, my full focus is on our sporting goals for the season. It would be a dream for me to bring the championship trophy back home and reach the long-awaited final at home at the end of May. I will give everything for that!" Muller concluded.
