The talented teenage footballer from China, Guo Jiaxuan lost his battle with death and passed away just on the eve of his 19th birthday. The promising football prodigy happened to fall into a coma last month after going through an accident in a training match, which was being played between the Beijing men’s U-20 team and Spanish side RC Alcobendas.
The doctors declared Jiaxuan ‘brain dead’ before referring him to a hospital in Beijing. Furthermore, his health vitals and conditions deteriorated a bit more and the young talented international breathed for the last time on Wednesday evening.
Guo Jiaxuan’s family blames the club for hiding information
Meanwhile, the deceased’s family members have also blamed the Beijing Football Association for not sharing information about the incident and not providing any information or avoiding communication with them.
“He’ll forever be frozen on the last day of his 18th year, we just want the truth and justice,” wrote Jiaxuan’s brother earlier this week.
“We’ve lost a child who loves football, May Jiaxuan rest in peace,” said the club in a social media post after the teenager’s death.
Notably, Guo was a part of Beijing Guoan’s U-19 team followed by getting selected in China’s U-17 team in 2023. Besides these appearances, he also happened to be a member of the FC Bayern World Squad project run, which was staged by the largest football club in Germany.
“We refrained from disclosing information since the incident to avoid irrelevant personnel interfering with medical work, and taking into account the feelings of family members,” said the Beijing FA club in an online statement.
“We have made every effort to coordinate medical resources for treatment and the needs of his family as much as possible,” the club added further in the statement.
