WATCH: Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Jim Ratcliffe give epic reply to reporter when asked about Erik Ten Hag's future

On 25th May at Wembley, Manchester United defeated arch-rival Manchester City in the FA Cup 2024. After having a bad season overall, Manchester United managed to win the trophy. Before the match started Pep Guardiola’s men were favourite to win the FA Cup. As the match went on Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo gave Manchester United earlier goals. 

In 87th minute of the match Manchester City was able to score a goal as Jeremy Doku netted the ball into the Manchester United goal post. However, Manchester United defeated them by 2-1. After Manchester United's FA Cup final triumph against Manchester City, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and famous manager Sir Alex Ferguson had a short handshake at Wembley Stadium before parting ways.

During the match, Sir Alex Ferguson sat close to Sir David Brailsford of INEOS, while Ratcliffe sat a row in front, a few seats away from Avram Glazer. All involved will definitely be happy with United's performance in lifting the title on Saturday. While Sir Alex Ferguson was going away, media surrounded him and asked to interview him he replied "I'm retired, did you not know that?"

Erik Ten Hag future in danger?

During his tenure at the club, the renowned manager won 38 trophies in all, including 13 Premier League crowns and two Champions League wins. Sir Alex Ferguson may have had a very stress-free tenure as manager of Manchester United but after his departure it was never easy for manager at Manchester United.

There will be a lot going on at Old Trafford over the next several days as Erik ten Hag's coaching future will be decided. According to reports surfaced Erik Ten Hag would lose his job regardless of the outcome at Wembley; however, United sources told MEN Sport that no decision would be taken until after the FA Cup final.
