In the last match of Euro 2024, England and Spain will square off for European supremacy as Spain are still undefeated in the tournament and will remain unbeaten as they are Europe's champions. Spain defeated England in a highly anticipated Euro 2024 final to win a European title for the first time since 2012.

During the 2024 European Championship match between Spain and England in Germany on Sunday, midfielder Rodri was substituted at halftime, dealing a shocking injury blow to the Spanish team. The midfielder for Manchester City was replaced by Real Sociedad in La Liga player Martin Zubimendi.

At the beginning of the second half of the Euro 2024 final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany, Spain had the upper hand over England. When Yamal delivered a pass into the box for Nico Williams on the left, who finished with a straightforward yet efficient far post finish in the bottom right corner, Spain launched an attack from the left flank in the 47th minute.

With this performance, Lamine Yamal now has four assists in the competition, extending his lead in the Euro 2024 assist rankings. This is the joint-highest amount of assists a player has had in a single Euros tournament.

Ollie Watkins has been substituted for captain Harry Kane by Gareth Southgate, taking a chance with the half-hour left in the France match. Though he has a chance to win the Golden Boot, Kane has struggled to enter games during the tournament.

The Spain defenders were having much too easy a time, with the England captain providing little danger in behind, and with England seeking to play on the break, Watkins' pace and dashes in behind appeared to provide England the best opportunity of getting back into the game. Southgate will be hoping Watkins has a similar impact as he did in the semi-final against the Netherlands when he scored a last-minute winner.

Spain ended England quest for European title

England needs Watkins to make a difference since they haven't begun the second half effectively and are down by a goal after Nico Willians gave Spain the lead barely two minutes in. Cole Palmer's spectacular finish from just outside the box has put England right back into the game. The ball was passed to Bukayo Saka, who straddled his run to remain onside before bringing the ball to the box after Spain was caught by surprise and won the ball in midfield.

Just minutes after coming off the bench, Chelsea's Palmer ignited a fire under Gareth Southgate's team, following a rather quiet showing from the Three Lions thus far. However, England was unable to go for the draw, as Mikel Oyarzabal's 88th-minute goal assisted them in winning the match and claiming the title of European champions, 2-1. Spain defeated England in the Euro 2024 final at Berlin's Olympiastadion, ending England's 58-year journey of suffering and heartbreak.
