At the Olympiastadion, Spain won the UEFA Euro 2024 championship for a record-breaking fourth time, defeating England 2-1. In Sunday's UEFA Euro 2024 final in Berlin, Cole Palmer scored the equaliser for England against Spain after coming off the bench. Mikel Oyarzabal scored the winner in the 87th minute of the game as he turned a brilliant pass from Marc Cucurella. There was a chance that the goal may have been ruled out for offside.

Spain broke the deadlock after just two minutes following the start of the second half. When Yamal delivered a pass into the penalty area for Nico Williams along the left, who finished with a straightforward yet efficient far post strike into the bottom right corner, Spain launched an offensive from the left side in the 47th minute.

Nico Williams made history by becoming the second-youngest person to score in a European final with this. He is behind Pietro Anastasi of Italy, who used to be 20 years and 64 days older, at 22 years and 2 days. In the 1968 final, Italy defeated Yugoslavia 2-0 thanks to a goal by Anastasi.

Rodri substituted early in the second half against England in UEFA Euro 2024 final

During the UEFA Euro 2024 final between Spain and England in Germany on Sunday, midfielder Rodri was substituted at halftime, dealing a shocking injury blow to the Spanish team.  The midfielder for Manchester City was replaced by Real Sociedad in La Liga player Martin Zubimendi. The 25-year-old previously played in Spain's 1-0 victory against Albania in its last Group stage game. He had also played in the games against France and Croatia off the bench.

Spain, who was thought to be the best team in the event and has won all six of its games at UEFA Euro 2024, began as the favourite. However, England had demonstrated resilience by winning every one of its UEFA Euro 2024 quarterfinal games after falling behind.
