Mats Hummels transfer legions to Roma

Meanwhile, the 2014 FIFA World Cup champion recently parted ways with his cherished Borussia Dortmund, becoming a free agent over the summer. This transition allowed him to join Roma on a free transfer, opening up new opportunities for his career.

Mats Hummels' journey at the Stadio Olimpico has faced its share of challenges, beginning with the club's decision to part ways with legendary player Daniele De Rossi just four games into the 2024-25 season. This transition led to the appointment of Ivan Juric as head coach.

Under Juric’s leadership, Hummels had a brief introduction to Serie A, playing for only 23 minutes before waiting nearly two months for his official Giallorossi debut. Following some adjustments, Juric ultimately departed in November, paving the way for new opportunities within the team.

“Thank god you can’t get traded like this as a football/soccer player,” wrote Hummels on social media, along with a suggestive emoji in response to Sunday’s news.

Mats Hummels has openly expressed his contentment in Rome, even making a lighthearted remark on social media as he anticipated his Roma debut under Juric last October.
