During the 1-1 draw against Denmark on Thursday, England was hardly impressive, even though it probably meant they would go to the UEFA Euro 2024 round of 16. Harry Kane provided England another quick start with a goal in the eighteenth minute. When the ball got to Kane, the captain of England scored a record-tying 64th goal with a left-footed effort. However, as the team waned, the captain was replaced in the second half. With twenty-five minutes remaining, England manager Gareth Southgate made three substitutions to rid his attacking line.

After Kane gave up the ball in defence, Morten Hjulmand scored a strong long-range low effort to tie the score for Denmark in the 34th. The English fans became more nervous and teasing later in the game,as  the Danes attacked the end, making England appear ragged during the second half.

In the 85th minute, Southgate was utterly incensed as England continued to give the ball away and offered Denmark several opportunities. Through both index fingers sticking to his head, the England coach yelled for his players to ponder as he stood in the bench.

Kane contributed to Denmark's equaliser when he made a careless ball out of defence to Hjulmand, who raced forward and fired a low shot into the right-hand post and past custodian Jordan Pickford. The game was played on slick ground that became uneven amid this week's nonstop rain on top of a closed stadium roof.

What are the chances of England qualifying to the next round?

Having defeated Serbia 1-0 in their opening game, England now has four points after two games. During the 24-team Euros format, that point total has always been sufficient to move forward.

Even yet, after facing Slovenia on Tuesday, England may place anywhere from the top to the third place in its Group C rankings. Thursday's 1-1 draw between Slovenia and Serbia came four days after the same outcome against Denmark. Denmark and Serbia also play on Tuesday night and both need nothing but a win to ensure qualification into the next round.
