All-rounder Shivam Dube's back ailment has ruled him out of Team India's three-match Twenty20 International Series against Bangladesh, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow. Tilak Varma, the young but experienced batter, has been selected by the Senior Selection Committee to take his spot in the forthcoming series.

During a practice session, Dube, who has been a crucial member of India's white-ball team in recent months, suffered an injury. India's middle order plus bowling options are anticipated to suffer with his absence, particularly considering his ability to make a contribution in both areas of the game. The degree of Dube's damage is yet unknown, but the management chose to proceed cautiously to prevent making matters worse.

Tilak Varma, who has shown promise in both the domestic circuit as well as the Indian Premier League (IPL), is going to report to Gwalior to join the team prior to the first T20I. The 21-year-old, who is well-known for his robust batting approach and capacity to perform under pressure, will be trying to take advantage of this chance to shine on the international scene.

A statement was posted by the BCCI earlier today on their social media handles as it read, "The Senior Selection Committee has named Tilak Varma as Shivam's replacement. Tilak will link up with the squad in Gwalior on Sunday morning."

Sanju Samson set to open alongside Abhishek Sharma against Bangladesh

With skipper Suryakumar Yadav confirming that Sanju Samson will be Abhishek Sharma's opening companion for the trio of T20I matches against Bangladesh, Samson will play a new position in the Indian T20I team. Abhishek Sharma is the only official opener in the Indian team for this series. Sanju is the sole individual in the team with significant experience of playing in that position.

Even though skipper Suryakumar Yadav has started the batting for India in this format, for Mumbai in local cricket, and for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, he is unrivalled at No. 3 or No. 4 when it comes to causing havoc. During the pre-series press conference, Suryakumar Yadav said, "Sanju Samson will play and open the batting in this series going forward with Abhishek Sharma."
