Real Madrid's reported pursuit of Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot is making headlines in the football community. The Spanish powerhouses have reportedly changed their emphasis following many fruitless attempts to entice Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool's golden kid.

Although Trent Alexander-Arnold has been a dream transfer for Real Madrid, his strong ties to Anfield and Liverpool's supremacy in the English Premier League have contributed to the move seeming more like a pipe dream. Real Madrid now seems prepared to switch to Diogo Dalot to be a more practical choice.

Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, has taken notice of the Portuguese defender, who is valued at about $50 million according to Spanish publication Relevo. It should be mentioned that Real Madrid had previously been in touch with Diogo Dalot's representation before Erik Ten Hag leaving Manchester United.

Since paying €22 million to join Manchester United at the age of 19, Dalot has become a vital member of the team. His significance currently appears to be increasing, particularly with the entrance of Ruben Amorim, a fellow Portuguese national.

However, given his high price tag, it could be difficult for him to leave Old Trafford. Any proposals that fall well short of €50 million are unlikely to be accepted by United, making discussions more difficult for any interested teams.

Will Real Madrid sign Trent Alexander-Arnold or Diogo Dalot next season?

Real Madrid's top goal is still to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold, who would do so alongside Jude Bellingham, a close friend. The possible contract for the Englishman is likely to concentrate more on incentives for signing and a competitive wage for the player, with lower transfer costs.

Even said, Real Madrid is still eager to learn more about Diogo Dalot's circumstances since they know that, even if it would be difficult to acquire him, he might provide a long-term right-back answer that would have an instant impact. According to a recent revelation made by Sergio Fernandez, the Spanish powerhouses are thinking about adding Dalot as a defensive reinforcement.
