Real Madrid is said to have conducted frequent spying trips for Arsenal defender William Saliba, who put up a strong showing versus Aston Villa this season. In his two full seasons, Saliba has developed to become one of Mikel Arteta's most valuable talents. He was extremely impressive during his first term in office. Despite his injuries towards the end of the season, the Gunners lost exactly the same number of games as they did when he was playing, and they were not able to win the Premier League.

The Frenchman participated in all 38 Premier League games the previous season, as Arsenal finished second in the standings. This season, Saliba has not missed a minute, and the North Londoners have only given up one goal. With an overall score of 7.87, he was among the best performers in the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, the team in fourth place the previous season.

Real is reportedly "firm admirers" of the Frenchman. They are also allegedly "watching him closely on a regular basis." Real are probably satisfied with what they have observed from Saliba given his performance since he became a regular at Arsenal. They may go after him after failing to bring in Leny Yoro during the summer and ultimately failing to recruit a centre-back.

Real Madrid set to go all-out for William Saliba

Before the summer, there were rumours that Real Madrid was getting ready to make a move for William Saliba. However, new sources indicate that, with preparations made, a 2025 pursuit has emerged as the most likely. Given his present form, Saliba is projected to cost more than £100 million.

In addition, he is going to have two years remaining on his current deal next summer, which Arsenal will probably want to change. It might not be easy to get a contract extension with a player that Real Madrid is rumoured to be targeting for a long time.
