On the eve of the Hillsborough tragedy's 35th anniversary, a football fan's attendance at games has been prohibited due to his chants about the catastrophe. After the April incident outside Liverpool's Anfield Stadium, Stuart Rutter, a supporter of Crystal Palace, will not be allowed to go to games for three years. After a trial hearing on Monday, the 41-year-old, who is from Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands, was found guilty.

Any hate crime, including shouting that is inappropriate and disturbs other people, shall be met with action and identification. "Merseyside Police will work to identify and bring justice to anyone found responsible for committing a hate crime." "I hope this sends a clear message and acts as a deterrent to others that we will put you before the courts to be prosecuted," as per Merseyside Police released statement.
The court was informed that on April 14, 2019, the eve of the Hillsborough Disaster's 35th anniversary, Rutter was outside Anfield Stadium's main stand for the Liverpool vs Crystal Palace match when he started chanting, frightening and upsetting the spectators. At the Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield during the 1989 FA Cup semi-final, 97 Liverpool supporters were crushed in the tragic event.
