Real Madrid have signed Huijsen on a long-term deal

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid has reached an agreement to sign Huijsen from Bournemouth for a fee of £50 million. The Spain international has already undergone a medical examination. A former youth player for Malaga from 2015 to 2021, Huijsen moved to Juventus prior to making his professional debut. Now, he is poised to make his La Liga debut and may also participate in the Club World Cup with Los Blancos this summer.

Huijsen transferred to Bournemouth in 2024 for a deal of £12.8 million. Bournemouth is set to make some good profit with this deal for a player who has only 30 Premier League appearances.

As per reports, Real Madrid are trying to rebuild their backline ahead of the next season. Real Madrid's dismal defence is one of the main reasons for the club's disappointing season. The injury-plagued defensive line, consisting of Alaba, Carvajal, Rudiger, and Mendy, has failed to live up to the expectations of the management and the fans. The introduction of new young stars like Huijsen makes it evident that the club is looking for long-term solutions.

Huijsen will play his last couple of games for the Foxes against Manchester City and Leicester. He would like to end his first stint at the Premier League on a winning note.
