FC Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal has been amazing throughout the season for the Catalonian club. The Spanish winger is currently participating in the UEFA Euro 2024 and has been brilliant in all three group-stage games he played for the nation. In the first game against Croatia, he made history by becoming the youngest player ever to feature at a European Championship as he is just 16 years and 338 days old and also the youngest player to assist in the major tournament.

He made 37 appearances in La Liga and 10 in the Champions League, finishing the campaign with seven goals and 10 assists in all competitions. The Wonderkind has been on the radar of many clubs for the upcoming season. Despite having a release clause of €1B. Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have been in the race to sign the 16-year-old footballer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, PSG has reportedly raised its previous offer by €50 million and is now proposing a record-breaking €250 million (£211 million/$232 million) to sign the teenager this summer. However, the Blaugrana remain in their stance and are unlikely to move the Spain international.

The French club has let go of their star winger Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer to Real Madrid and has been in search of a replacement. That is the very reason the club has eyed Lamine as the possible replacement and Luis Enrique who is also a Spaniard will look to add him to the squad.

Can PSG break their record?

Previously PSG made a huge move to sign Neymar from the Blaugranes in 2017 by paying a hefty fee of €222 million for the Brazilian. It is still the biggest amount paid for a player in football history. They have made it the impossible possible previously, but the club will also need to agree on the terms of selling the footballer.

However, Barcelona have financial problems and they will look to offload some of the footballers in the summer window and bring in some signings that are required by newly appointed coach Hansi Flick
