FC Barcelona have already made Hansi Flick official as their new head coach. The German manager has been linked with the club during the turmoil of Xavi's transfer saga. The Catalonian club who had a decent 2023/24 season finished without winning a trophy will be eager to turn things around in the upcoming season, by bringing in some players as their rival club Real Madrid have already made the signing of Kylian Mbappe.

Flick who was last the manager of Germany back in 2022, is known for his attacking brand of football with more fluidity. He needs a footballer who will play the pivotal role in the midfield area like he did in Bayern Munich during the season they won the sextuple. Joshua Kimmich is one of the footballers who has been under the radar of the club for a long time, but as the financial things stand it has been difficult to sign the versatile footballer.

However, in the upcoming transfer market, the Blaugranes management will look to sign the German midfielder turned fullback, as the head coach himself is taking the responsibility of bringing in the player to Spain. As things stand recently, the footballer turned down an offer from Barcelona since it was not to his expectations. According to sources, he reportedly makes over €19.5 million before taxes, a wage that Barcelona finds difficult to match as per the club's financial crisis.

Barcelona needs to sell some big signings to sign Kimmich

Barca needs to sell some of their footballers in the transfer market to maintain the 1:1 spending rule, which means they need to balance their spending with their earnings. As of now, the Bavarians want €60 million for the 29-year-old footballer, an amount that Barcelona cannot afford. Things in the coming days will be interesting as there will be some footballers who is set to be listed in the outgoings in the summer transfer market.

They have also been unable to register their head coach as well. The management needs to decide quickly on the footballer as other clubs are also in talks with Kimmich. As per the rumours Manchester City have also shown interest in singing the footballer, as Pep Guardiola has managed the German during his time at the Allianz Arena and he himself turned the midfielder into a full-back.
