German football maestro Toni Kroos has bid farewell to his illustrious career following Germany's departure from Euro 2024. The host nation suffered a heart-wrenching defeat against Spain in the quarter-finals, marking the end of an era for Kroos, who had earlier announced that the 2023/24 club season would be his final campaign.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Kroos shared an emotional post reflecting on his journey. "So that’s it," he wrote, pausing to reflect on the whirlwind 17 years of his career. "But before I take a break and at least try to realize what happened over the last 17 years I don’t want to miss the opportunity to say thank you to everyone accepting me how and who I am."

Kroos, now 34, reminisced about his pivotal role in Germany's triumph at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, a crowning achievement in his international career. Expressing gratitude, he thanked his fans, clubs, coaches, teammates, and especially his friends and family. He cherished the joy of seeing his children proud of their father, a testament to the personal rewards of a distinguished career.
