FC Barcelona had a difficult 2023/24 season as the club failed to win any trophies in the season. They finished second in the La Liga behind arch-rivals Real Madrid. The management also sacked their head coach Xavi and appointed Hansi Flick as their new manager for the upcoming season. Ahead of the season, the club is looking to bring in some footballers in the summer window.

Nico Williams was one of the choices for the Blaugranes management and has a profile that perfectly complements Hansi Flick's and the team's goals. However, amidst all the speculations the footballer has given his comment on the possible transfer rumours. The Spanish winger has signed a new contract with Bilbao and he is happy to continue with the club. Due to his exceptional performance on the international stage, several clubs, including the Catalonian club, have been forced to make significant financial sacrifices to get him.

But now that he has thrown light on his future, Barca will be shifting their focus on some other footballers for the summer window. To make the signings, the club will first need to sell some of its current players to maintain the 1:1 FFP rules and register the footballers they sign.

Barcelona eyes two footballers for upcoming season

Barca presently has a huge financial crisis and they will look to sign players with lesser market values and transfer fees. They have some names on their list that they will target in the market. Jeremie Frimpong has been a target for the Spanish Giants, the club has also agreed to spend up to 50 million to secure the services of the talented youngster.

Joshua Kimmich is also on the radar of the club however, as of recently, the footballer has turned down an offer from Barcelona since it did not meet his expectations. According to sources, he earns more than €19.5 million before taxes, a salary that Barcelona finds difficult to match given the club's financial problems.
