The side are in desparate need of a holding midfielder who can play out from the deep just like Sergio Busquets used to do for the club and made the defence to attack transition look easy.

FC Barcelona have been struggling with form in the current season as they have been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. The Catalonian club are also out of the La Liga title race as their arch-rivals Real Madrid are 11 points clear. The Spanish club will look to make some reinforcements in the side and be better next season. Several names are to be chopped off in the upcoming season including some of the big names.

The Blaugranes management has already made Xavi stay for a few more seasons as the former World Cup winner announced his exit from the club after the current season. However, he believes there is some unfinished business with the club, and also thinks that the project for re-building of the side is in process. Barca will look to add some more players to the squad for the upcoming season.

However, the club has been going through a financial crisis and they need to sell out some of the players ahead of signing some season. The side is in desperate need of a holding midfielder who can play out from the deep just like Sergio Busquets used to do for the club and made the defence-to-attack transition look easy. Some players are on the radar of the club for the 2024/25 season.

Kimmich top target for Barca

Bayern Munich footballer Joshua Kimmich who has been turned to a right back is being tracked by the Spanish club. This transfer offers financial strain, but the club is sure that they will be able to get the financial help. Kimmich has also desired to play under his idol Xavi. The full-back has been an ardent supporter of the 44-year-old manager since he started playing football after watching the Spanish legend.

The 29-year-old is already having issues at the German club as he needs to play as a right back, however, this showcases his adaptability to the game of playing many positions. With his contract set to expire in 2025, the German international might eye a possible transfer to Spain in the summer transfer window.
