FC Barcelona had a poor 2023/24 season as the Blaguranes failed to win a single trophy in the season. They also sacked their coach Xavi after turmoil between the management and the 2010 World Cup winner. They already announced their new coach Hansi Flick, with the German manager succeding the former Spanish manager. The management needs to act quickly since they will be desperate to recruit the footballers required by the former Bayern Munich coach.

To make the signings, the club will first need to sell some of its current players. The former German national team manager has shortlisted some of the footballers he needs for the upcoming season. Jeremie Frimpong has been a target for the Spanish Giants, the club has also agreed to spend up to 50 million to secure the services of the talented youngster.

The Dutch wing-back was amazing in the season for Bayer Leverkusen and helped them win their maiden Bundesliga title as well. He is considered one of the best young talents in Europe, as he scored 14 goals and seven assists in all competitions for Xabi Alonso's side and also won the DFB Pokal as well. Other clubs are also in the race to sign the footballer for the upcoming season.

Will Barca able to sign Frimpong?

Barca presently has a huge financial crisis and they will look to sign players with lesser market values and transfer fees. They will need some footballers to get the service of the 23-year-old fullback. Real Madrid has a chance of snatching in the footballer as he will be a long-term successor for Dani Carvajal, and Frimpong might be considered a viable option.

Joshua Kimmich is also on the radar of the club however, as of recently, the footballer has turned down an offer from Barcelona since it did not meet his expectations. According to sources, he earns more than €19.5 million before taxes, a salary that Barcelona finds difficult to match given the club's financial predicament.
