Neymar to go back to Santos

After joining Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023, Neymar faced troubles due to injuries that limited his appearances to just seven games over a year and a half.

Neymar is preparing to return to his boyhood club, Santos, in Brazil this month, starting an exciting new chapter in his career. After joining Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League in the summer of 2023, Neymar faced troubles primarily due to injuries, limiting his appearances to just seven games over a year and a half. However, this move back to Santos offers him a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a club that holds special significance for him.

The situation surrounding Neymar's potential return to Santos is still being clarified, particularly since he has six months remaining on his contract with Al-Hilal. Neymar is presented with two possible pathways: he could either negotiate a termination of his contract with the Saudi Pro League champions or explore the option of a loan move back to Brazil.

According to Footmercato, Neymar is making a significant personal sacrifice by accepting a pay cut to support his potential return to Santos this month. The only remaining hurdle in finalizing his move is his contract situation with Al-Hilal.

Al-Hilal's manager, Jorge Jesus, has shifted his focus and confirmed that Neymar will not be included in the roster for the upcoming second half of the Saudi Pro League season. This has opened up a probable pathway for Neymar's return to Santos, which is now looking increasingly likely to happen soon.
