Leroy Sane of Bayern Munich is reportedly being watched by Newcastle United. Eddie Howe's team is reportedly interested in the 28-year-old, and Arsenal and Liverpool are additionally keeping a close eye on the Germany international.

There are only ten months left on Sane's current Bayern Munich deal, but the Bundesliga team is rumoured to have started talks about extending it. Nevertheless, those negotiations can fall through because the winger needs to accept a pay cut in order to stay with the Bavarian powerhouses. Numerous clubs are keeping an eye on the situation because of the uncertainty surrounding Sane's future.

After seeing their deal for Anthony Elanga of Nottingham Forest rejected on the day of the transfer deadline, Newcastle is now looking for a winger. Sane has played in the Premier League with Manchester City, where he made 135 appearances across all competitions, netting 39 goals and dishing out 43 assists.

Since signing with Bayern Munich, the winger has appeared in 175 matches, contributing 50 assists and 48 goals across all competitions. There weren't many first team additions made by Newcastle during the summer transfer season, and the effort to recruit Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi proved unsuccessful. Nevertheless, Newcastle has maintained their unblemished start in the Premier League following their 2-1 victory over Wolves on Sunday.

Eddie Howe on Newcastle United’s amazing win against Wolves

Eddie Howe spoke to the media after his side made a stunning comeback against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday. He said, "It's a massive win for us. Away from home we have questions to answer and that is a big step forward for us. I wasn't totally satisfied [at half-time] and the lads know they have to perform. We have the ability to make those changes. I have to credit the players who came on. Everyone played their part and it is a massive win.”

He added, "I got the sense [of urgency] at the start of the half and then there was bit of a lull and Fabian's goal injected confidence. It took a moment of real class from Harvey and then we had cramp and all of those battling qualities at the end to get over the line.”
