The Current Scenario
Marc Guehi's existing deal with Crystal Palace expires in the summer of 2026, and the club is aiming to present the 24-year-old with a new contract featuring a significant salary increase. Nevertheless, according to the Daily Mail, Guehi may not be interested in renewing his contract and might consider leaving the club as a free agent in 2026. Consequently, Manchester City is now monitoring the defender's situation and may seek to acquire him on a free transfer.
Crystal Palace Needs to Decide Soon
Crystal Palace is facing a decision regarding Marc Guehi's future at Selhurst Park. With the player showing little interest in extending his contract, the club has two options: to try and persuade him to stay or to consider selling him at a reduced price in the upcoming transfer windows.
Oliver Glasner's team might need to figure out a way to persuade the Chelsea academy graduate to sign a new deal with a big pay raise. If not, other teams like City might just wait a few years and snag him as a free agent. Guehi really caught the eye last season with the south London team, playing a total of 29 games across all competitions.
Marc Guehi is currently part of the England national team and is expected to be a key player in interim manager Lee Carsley's first two matches in charge of the team.
