Mudryk has not been available for selection due to the failed doping tests. The Ukrainian has been accused of taking banned substance Meldonium.

He has kept a low profile following his denial of wrongdoing in an official statement. However, the winger indicated that he has missed being with the team.

Chelsea took to their Instagram to post highlights from the club's last season's fixture against Craven Cottage where Ukrainian was amongst the goal-scorers.

Mudryk is currently awaiting the results of his 'B' sample, which will determine whether it confirms the findings of his 'A' sample. Should he be found to have violated regulations, a positive drugs test could result in a lengthy ban. Mudryk pledged his innocence asserting he has not wronged anyone and is optimistic for a quick return to the pitch.

Mykhailo Mudryk signed a long eight-year contract with the Blues but has managed to make only 53 appearances for the club. He has also netted 5 goals across various club competitions.

"I can confirm that I have been notified that a sample I provided to The FA contained a banned substance. This has come as a complete shock as I have never knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules, and am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened," Mudryk said.

"I know that I have not done anything wrong and remain hopeful that I will be back on the pitch soon. I cannot say any more now due to the confidentiality of the process, but I will as soon as I can," Mudryk added.
