Manchester United had a disappointing outing this season. Despite changing their head coach, the team did little to win any silverware this season. The team also achieved its worst possible finish in its entire Premier League history.

Matheus Cunha to join Manchester United next season

This football transfer news comes after both the club and the player have reportedly come to terms on a five-year deal with the possibility of an extension for an additional year. The club has suffered much this season due to the absence of an established striker.

Ruben Amorim is eager to strengthen his attacking options, particularly with Rasmus Hojlund struggling to find form and the likelihood of Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford departing in the summer.

Cunha, who extended his contract with Wolves for four years in February, had an impactful season, netting 15 goals and providing six assists in the league. He was closely linked with a move to United throughout the campaign.

Amorim is known to admire the Brazilian centre-forward and has been spotted in discussions with the striker twice in the team tunnel during Manchester United's fixtures against Wolves.

The Red Devils are also looking to secure the signature of Ipswich forward Liam Delap. Although the player already has many suitors in the form of Chelsea, Newcastle, and Everton.

Although Cunha has managed to score 15 goals this season, his outing hasn't been far from controversy. He was banned for four games after he kicked Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez. He was also fined a £50,000 fine for his red card in the FA Cup. He was again fined £80,000 and banned for two games after he apparently elbowed Ipswich support staff.
