He has netted 66 goals and provided 19 assists in just 68 matches across all competitions for the Portuguese club. Under the guidance of Ruben Amorim, he has developed into a formidable goalscoring presence, making him a valuable asset for potential suitors.

The Portuguese coach recently stepped in as the new head coach of the Premier League giants and is set to tackle various challenges at Old Trafford. One of the key areas he will focus on is improving the team’s performance in front of goal.

Zirkzee was brought in during the summer to address this issue, and while he has faced some difficulties, there is still a lot to address regarding his usability in the team. Rasmus Hojlund is still finding his footing this season, with two goals in 12 appearances. Amorim's new team would greatly benefit from the addition of a reliable No. 9, and Gyokeres could potentially fill that role.

At 26 years old, Gyokeres is under contract with Sporting until 2028 and has a reported release clause of €100 million. In a strategic move, Manchester United is considering enhancing their offer by including Zirkzee, which could make the deal more appealing.

Manchester United's performance last season was disappointing, finishing eighth in the Premier League, a staggering 31 points behind champions Manchester City. The Red Devils struggled offensively, netting only 57 goals in 38 league matches—the lowest tally among the top 10 teams.

For comparison, Manchester City dominated with 96 goals, while Arsenal, who ended the season in second place, scored 91. This season, too has not seen any improvement for Manchester United, as they have managed a mere 12 goals in 11 league games.
