Omar Berrada, the CEO of Manchester United, is said to have informed the Red Devils' employees that Old Trafford should host the Premier League championship by 2028. Since finishing first in Sir Alex Ferguson's last campaign at Old Trafford in 2012–13, Manchester United has not won a Premier League championship.

Since then, United has not been able to win the Premier League title and has only been able to place second twice, under Jose Mourinho in 2018 and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2021. With Sir Jim Ratcliffe's arrival, Manchester United will be aiming towards additional Premier League titles.

The Athletic has now disclosed that Berrada has set a deadline for when he wants the return of the Premier League trophy returned to Old Trafford. Despite a dismal start to the present season, Berrada as well as sporting director Dan Ashworth have continued to retain faith in Erik ten Hag. When the Red Devils host Tottenham Hotspur inside Old Trafford on Sunday, September 29, they will seek to bounce back from their current dismal performance in an attempt to move back into the top half of the Premier League rankings.

“We should be challenging for the Premier League” : Omar Berrada

The Manchester United CEO spoke to the staff of the club as he said (as per The Athletic), "I think it’s the club’s 150-year anniversary in 2028… if our trajectory is leading to a very good place in that sort of timeframe then we’d be very happy with that. Because it’s not easy to turn Manchester United into the world’s best football team.

The Manchester City CEO added that the ultimate target of the club should be to compete for the best titles in club football. He said, "The ultimate target for Manchester United — and it’s always going to be thus, really — is that we should be challenging for the Premier League and challenging for the Champions League. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world."
