'I don't like the way..' - Jose Mourinho takes a dig on Galatasaray's new signing Victor Osimhen

Jose Mourinho has criticized Victor Osimhen, the new signing for Galatasaray, for "diving too much" but also acknowledged that he is an "absolutely fantastic player". The Nigerian striker appeared set to transfer from Napoli to Chelsea this summer but failed to reach an agreement on personal terms with the club.

Following the closure of the European transfer window, the 25-year-old secured a loan deal to the Turkish Super Lig, with provisions that would allow him to depart in January if a larger club expressed interest. Osimhen has expressed his desire to depart the Serie A side this summer, resulting in his exclusion from the squad by new head coach Antonio Conte.

Osimhen declined Saudi Offer and joined Galatasaray

The Saudi club giants Al-Ahil made a lucrative offer to sign him, but Osimhen turned them down. Now, with Osimhen set to join Galatasaray,as he will likely have his eye on a potential meeting with Jose Mourinho, the manager of Fenerbache, one of Galatasaray's rivals.

Mourinho's take on Osimhen

In a recent statement, Mourinho expressed high praise for Osimhen, describing him as a fantastic player and expressing a strong desire to sign him for a club with a budget of 70 to 75 million. Mourinho also commended Galatasaray for adding such a talented player to their roster and revealed that he shares a good relationship with Osimhen. He further advised Osimhen against excessive diving, a behavior that Mourinho disapproves of. Additionally, Mourinho mentioned that he considers Osimhen to be one of the top two African players of the current generation, while also criticizing his tendency to dive.

"He is a fantastic player, but I don't like the way he behaves, he dives too much.. Him and Mo Salah are the best African players. In the past, it was Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o, and George Weah. You cannot behave like this.’ He dives too much," said Mourinho.
