Manchester United asks Antony to focus on finding new club - Reports

Manchester United is likely to part ways with Antony. The failure of the Brazilian to live up to his expectations has been cited as the reason for the move. The reports claim that the former Ajax player is asked to find a new club for his future. It has put the expensive player's future in jeopardy. Not many seem to be interested in the star player.

In 2022, a huge deal was made between Ajax and the Red Devils. The Manchester-based club bought Antony for a whopping price of 86 million Euros. In the first few matches, he did live up to the expectations. Against Arsenal on his debut, Antony scored a goal and made an impact on the Red Devils straightaway. He played well in the following few games.

However, there was no consistency from Antony in the following games. In the English Premier League, he played 29 matches and managed to score a solitary goal which came as a late equalizer against Burnley. It was his first goal for Manchester United in 23 matches. No wonder why United are looking to move away from the Brazilian.

Beneficial for Manchester United

Antony is likely to face a stiff challenge at United in the upcoming season. The Red Devils have some good names despite not having a great season. Amad Diallo has been retained and Jadon Sancho will be returning for the next season. In their presence, it will be difficult for Antony to be in the starting XI of the Erik Ten Hag team.

It would be better for Antony to look for alternate options. The talented player might find a place somewhere else but at a lower price. United want to use the money they get by releasing Antony to strengthen their squad. It will be a win-win situation for Manchester, but not a good sign for Antony. The Brazil star will have to return to his best form to bag a deal.
