Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig has long reportedly piqued Arsenal's attention, but it now seems like Man United wants to snag any deal. The Daily Mail claims that the forward will depart from the Bundesliga team at the conclusion of the current season and will probably be able to choose from a number of clubs, with United unlikely to be one of them.
The Gunners are still the front-runners to sign the 21-year-old, who transfermarkt values at €50 million. Although Chelsea has reportedly expressed interest in Sesko's talents in the past, it currently seems doubtful that Stamford Bridge will be his final destination.
With 188 career games played and 108 goals and assists contributed (transfermarkt), it's little wonder the Premier League's biggest teams want to sign the Slovenian. Although the German obviously contributes more than simply goals, from an Arsenal standpoint, he would undoubtedly have the advantage above Kai Havertz in terms of goals scored.
In contrast, United is suffering greatly in terms of their attackers. Like Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee has had difficulties since joining the team in the last 12 months. In their combined 58 Red Devils games, the two have only managed 18 goals throughout all competitions. Zirkee, a recent addition, has just one of those.
Where will Benjamin Sesko go next summer?
The 6' 5" attacker may seek elsewhere, though, as the 21-year-old wants to keep experiencing UEFA Champions League football and United is presently six points outside of the top four in 14th place in the Premier League. Several other elite European teams are also keeping an eye on the young player's development. Arsenal was connected to the Slovenian international for the majority of summer time but was unable to sign him.
Sesko remained at RB Leipzig this summer because he believed it was optimal for his development, but sources earlier reported that United and Arsenal had been thinking of making a January move for him. He has a "gentleman's agreement" with Leipzig that may permit him to leave the team in 2025, according to sources, but he also has an additional release clause in place.
