Lothar Matthaus compares Jamal Musiala with Argentine great after stunning display in UEFA Euro 2024

Jamal Musiala is in firing form in the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany. The Bayern Munich wonderboy is making the defenders look like puppets with his dancing feet. He has done something of note over the last three years or so and he has everything that a team needs passing, pace, creative play, and scoring prowess. The star boy of Germany in the FIFA World Cup 2022 has yet again stepped up on the big occasion for the country. 

The German creative midfielder is currently the highest goalscorer in the major tournament with two goals. He scored his second goal of the tournament against Hungary on Wednesday and that was the first goal of the game for the side as well. The 21-year-old footballer broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute of the game and throughout the game, he was a constant threat to his opponents. 

Seeing wonder boy perform many football pundits and former footballers have praised his excellent footballing display. The recent one to comment on Musiala is a former World Cup winner from Germany Lothar Matthaus. He has compared the young footballer with Argentine superstar Lionel Messi. He has lived up to the expectation, scoring 43 goals and providing 31 assists in 163 matches for Bayern Munich, becoming the club's youngest player to make a century of appearances.

Musiala compared with Messi

Matthaus said, "He [Musiala] can be the (Lionel) Messi of the future, he is excellent. He is 19 years old, he is doing the things that will make him a top footballer. He has great passing, he is clever with his thinking and he loves football." Musiala is a huge fan of the Argentine World Cup winner and marks him as his idol and that is the very reason he wears the No.10 shirt for the country as well. 

The footballer previously said that he does not want to emulate his idol, but he has been a fanboy of the FIFA World Cup winner. He said, "Yes, I think the number 10 has been a dream for me since I was a little kid, whenever I watched Messi or something like that. For me, the GOAT has to be Leo Messi."
