Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the two most decorated footballers of all time. Both the footballers have passed their prime and are currently playing outside Europe. They had an intense rivalry for almost 15 years of their playing career for the clubs and nations. They have been the stars for the clubs and nations that they have featured for respectively over the years. The long ongoing debate of who's the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) is still fresh. 

The Portuguese captain currently featuring for the country in the UEFA Euro 2024 as he made the record sixth appearance in the major tournament on Tuesday against the Czech Republic. The Argentine playmaker will also be featuring in some days in the upcoming Copa America 2024 for the La Albiceleste. Ahead of that in the TV show of the UEFA Euro former Manchester United defender Pratice Evra has re-ignited the debate by dropping some comments about both footballers. 

Evra was with Ronaldo in his spell with the Red Devils and has spent long seasons with him and also played against Messi as well during the UEFA Champions League fixtures. He believes that the 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball winner is way beyond the reach of the 39-year-old footballer. 

Evra re-ignites Messi vs Ronaldo debate

On being asked the difference between the two greatest footballers Evra said, "Ronaldo is playing for his legacy, for his name but Messi is just playing for fun. Messi has won everything. When you watch Messi play, he is not same as before. He is more relaxed now." The former France fullback's comments have yet again sparked among the two rival fans of Messi and Ronaldo. 

CR7 is the leading goalscorer in international football with 130 goals to his name and the Argentina captain is 22 goals behind him with 108 both of them have won every possible individual accolade while playing for their respective clubs and have immense respect for each other on and off the field.
