According to reports, Liverpool are set to sign Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili making him the first signing of Liverpool under Arne Slot who is the new manager of Liverpool. Mamardashvili has an £85 million release clause in his contract, which he will have with Valencia for the following three seasons. It is said that he has already declined to relocate to Saudi Arabia.

In an attempt to reach an agreement on a fee with an add-on structure, Liverpool has reached out to Mamardashvili's present club, Valencia, for a package that is expected to cost around €30 million (£25.5 million). In exchange, Mamardashvili would play one more season at Valencia in an excellent move that would allow him to get regular first-team experience before joining Liverpool the following summer, when Alisson Becker, who is expected to replace him, gets closer to turning thirty-three.

Meanwhile, Giorgi Mamardashvili, who has excelled in Spain over the past two seasons, and the two teams are almost at an agreement. At the Euros 2024, he made his debut on the main stage. In the event that the Reds are successful in signing the player, they will offer him a weekly salary of £65,000. However, he would have to wait to don the Liverpool uniform since he wouldn't unseat Alisson until 2026, one year before the Brazilian's Anfield deal ends.

Liverpool will loan him to Bournemouth

Although Liverpool had intended to purchase him, they decided to let him go on loan to Bournemouth in order to give him Premier League experience. Although a major regulation prohibits English top-flight clubs from signing players and letting them go on loan to a rival league, the goalkeeper had been amenable to the notion. This implies the Merseysiders need to change course and come up with a fresh approach to carrying out the strategy.

Liverpool won the first match of the Premier League 2024/25 season against newly promoted Ipswich Town by score by 2-0. Liverpool will face Brentford on 25th August at Anfield this will be the first home game for Liverpool in the new season.
