The UEFA Women's Euro has a rich history, which dates back to 1984, when Sweden was crowned the inaugural champion. A total of 14 editions have taken place, and a majority of them have been won by Germany. Apart from them, only four other teams have managed to win the UEFA Women's Euros at least once till 2025.

While the first edition took place in 1984, the second edition took place three years later. From 1987 to 1997, the event took place once every two years. Since then, the format has changed to once every four years. In 2021, the tournament was postponed by a year due to the pandemic.

While Norway won the following edition in 1987 and later in 1993, there was an unprecedented domination of Germany from 1995 to 2013, a period in which no other team won the title. In 2017, the Netherlandswon the title, while England has dominated the tournament since then. In both 2022 and 2025, England won the title and are currently the European Champions.
