Football's youngest teen prodigy, Lamine Yamal, may go up against its most decorated ambassador, Lionel Messi, in the Finalissima. Argentina is the current title holder of the Finalissima, having beaten Italy at Wembley Stadium in 2022.

Reports suggest that both UEFA and CONMEBOL are in talks to host the Finalissima between the European and South American champions. The fixture may take place as early as this year.

The two federations have committed to delivering this footballing extravaganza that reflects the growth of competing nations and the rise of the tournament as a global footballing venture.

Should the event unfold into reality, the Argentine squad will enter as the reigning champions, having beaten Italy 3-0 back in 2022, the last time the event was ever conducted. The fixture will also see the clash of two of the best footballers from two different generations.
