France will play Israel and Italy in the UEFA Nations League, but Kylian Mbappe has once again been left out of the squad. Mbappe is fit this time around after missing France's last international matches because of a thigh issue. The Real Madrid star reportedly truly objected to being called up. L'Equipe, meanwhile, stated that Mbappe would rather remain in Spain than play for his country.
The World Cup winner was reportedly benched from the national team for the second time in a row because of a recent breakdown in a connection with Deschamps. Additionally, it is said that Kylian Mbappe no longer wishes to be a member of France, at least not while Didier Deschamps is coaching the squad. According to reports both Kylian Mbappe and Didier Deschamps have fallen out. However, Dider Deschamps has dismissed these rumors.
The French federation should fire Deschamps, according to Mbappe's team, which includes his mother and agent Fayza Lamari. It is also said that several players don't want Deschamps, who has led the team for 12 years, to be in charge any longer. The players are demanding a change and want Zinedine Zidane to take his place as a teammate. According to Deschamps, Mbappe's missing out on the team is not because of recent rumors in Swedish media that the striker was being investigated for rape.
Carlo Ancelotti refuses to comment on Kylian Mbappe's situation with national team
"I’m not going to argue. What I can tell you are these two things. One, that Kylian wanted to come. And two, it’s not the extra sporting problems that come into play since the presumption of innocence exists and must exist. It’s a one-off choice for this gathering," Didier Deschamps said.
Since joining Real Madrid, Mbappe has struggled, and he was criticized following both their 1-3 loss to AC Milan and their 0–4 loss to Barcelona last month. Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti responded to Mbappe's dismal club performance by saying, "Mbappe is down but not out." In response to Mbappe's absence from the France squad, he stated, "I have no authority to criticize the national team coach's decision. I don't let myself do that."
