Maino's heroics won the fixture for Manchester United
In the first half, Manchester United kept impressive possession and offensive pressure. With 70% possession compared to the host team's 30%, United effectively controlled the game. They created several scoring opportunities, although they had a missed chance which should have been scored.
The Red Devils managed to keep three of their six shots on target. Conversely, FCSB struggled to find their rhythm, managing only two attempts, none of which were on target. As a result, Manchester United's goalkeeper had a relatively quiet first half.
Manchester United took the lead in the 59th minute with a straightforward goal. Following a throw-in, Eriksen flicked the ball onto Mainoo, who surged to the byline and delivered an excellent cross to the back post. Ngezana lost track of his man, allowing Dalot to sneak in and slot the ball home effortlessly at the back post.
Kobbie Mainoo initially squandered a clear opportunity but made no mistake with his second chance, effortlessly side-footing a shot into the corner from the penalty spot after a well-placed cut-back. Garnacho deserved significant credit for his run on the left flank.
He created the goal by pulling wide and delivering a precise low cross into the box. The youngster became the first player since Wayne Rooney to record a goal and an assist on his first European start. The hosts failed to find the net even once as Manchester United won 2-0.
