Chelsea and Leicester have agreed a price of £30 million for midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. The 25-year-old will have a medical at Stamford Bridge before signing a six-year contract that would last until 2030. The player turned down a similar offer from Brighton last week.

Leicester was looking for £40 million for Dewsbury-Hall, and Chelsea's earlier proposal was turned down, but strong pressure from Premier League profit and sustainability standards may have influenced them to accept less. The Foxes are also allegedly in discussions with Chelsea to acquire midfielder Michael Golding, 18, which may come into the equation.

Dewsbury-Hall deal is anticipated to be finalized before the Premier League profit and sustainability deadline of June 30th, allowing Leicester to comply with the financial criteria. Moving to Chelsea would allow the player to reunite with manager Enzo Maresca, who joined the Blues this summer after winning the Championship title with Leicester last season.

Dewsbury-Hall scored 12 goals and assisted 14 in 44 Championship appearances last season, earning him both Leicester's and the Players' Player of the Season awards. Golding has only made one senior appearance for Chelsea; however, he is highly regarded as an England junior international.

Dewsbury-Hall is expected to become Chelsea's fourth official summer signing, after Tosin Adarabioyo, Estevao Willian, and Omari Kellyman. Given his previous views, Dewsbury-Hall's decision to embrace a reunion with Maresca is not surprising.

Chelsea's new era starts with Enzo Maresca

With this transfer, he will be back together with former Leicester manager Enzo Maresca, who starts as Mauricio Pochettino's formal replacement on Monday. Maresca was recently signed by the Premier League's biggest teams from King Power Stadium to take Mauricio Pochettion's spot.

After the 2023–24 season, Mauricio Pochettino was fired by Chelsea, having guided the team to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League. After replacing Frank Lampard, who had been in charge on an interim basis since the summer of 2023, the Argentine was only in command for a single season.
