Julian Alvarez has been one of the most promising upcoming talents in world football. The Argentina forward has been impressive in recent years. He was the second-highest goal scorer for the nation in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, finding the net four times in the most coveted tournament of football. The striker was previously rumoured to leave Manchester City in the 2024/25 season. 

Amidst all the rumours, Alvarez has given his verdict on the rumours. The former River Plate footballer is happy at the club and he is comfortable as well and has not decided on the future of the club. Although he has not been a first-choice starter for Pep Guardiola's side, Erling Haaland starts the majority of the matches for the current English Premier League champions. He participated in 54 games in the 2023/24 season, scoring 19 goals and 13 assists across all competitions for the Manchester club. 

The 'Sky Blues' few days back stated that they are not interested in selling the footballer and will not accept any loan proposal from other clubs. He was heavily linked with Chelsea for a summer move with Enzo Maresca looking to rejuvenate the attack, but he presently remains focused on the upcoming Copa America 2024

Will Julian Alvarez sign for Real Madrid?

But if the 24-year-old striker leaves the club, his preferred destination would be Real Madrid. But it will not be possible in the upcoming summer window as he signed a new contract last year which runs until the summer of 2028. The footballer previously was on the radar of the club after he gave a trial in his youth days. 

In his first year with the current English Premier League champions, he won the UEFA Champions League, PL and the FA Cup as well, winning the treble with the club and then the World Cup with La Albiceleste as well. He would like to perform well and help the three-time world champions defend the Copa America trophy in the USA.
