Ruben Amorim's decision to exclude Marcus Rashford from Manchester United's recent match-day squads reflects his focused coaching strategy, and it's important to note that he is not under any pressure from Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s football department in this regard.

Additionally, Amorim expressed some concerns about the influence of those around Rashford, particularly in light of the forward's comments during an interview with journalist Henry Winter shortly after the Manchester City match, where he mentioned, he was up to take up a new challenge. This statement has been interpreted by some as a desire for a potential move.

Rashford is officially for sale in the January transfer window, a decision that has received approval from Ratcliffe. However, his absence is being directed by the orders of the manager.

Once again, Amorim has excluded the forward from the squad for the 3-0 loss against Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday. This decision follows Rashford's absence from the squad during the Carabao Cup defeat at Tottenham.

Amorim's desire to improve Rashford

Amorim expressed his strong support for Rashford, who is contracted until 2028, emphasizing his desire for the player to remain at United.

"I’m always here for helping Marcus as another player and they have to do what they have to do. I say they chose to do that interview because it’s not just Marcus." Amorim said.

“Now I'm just focused on improving Marcus, we need a lot in this moment from a talented guy like Marcu. I forget, for now, the interview. I just see what I see on the pitch”. Amorim added.

The Portuguese manager asserted that he can distinguish his relationship with Rashford from the decisions made by the player's advisors. Looking ahead, Amorim's team is set to face Wolves on Boxing Day, followed by a home match against Newcastle.
