Roy Keane, the iconic former Manchester United player, expressed mixed feelings about his connection to the club, reflecting on his departure in 2006. Despite his legendary status and the numerous titles he helped secure during his time at Manchester United, Keane has been candid about his perspective as a pundit on the team's performance post-Sir Alex Ferguson era. He has frequently analyzed their struggles and offered insights into what has been affecting the club's success. Interestingly, the 53-year-old has shared that he does not currently support either Manchester United or Nottingham Forest, the club where he played before joining the Red Devils.

Keane admits to no longer being a supporter of United

"I don’t have that affinity with the clubs I’ve played for. I don’t support Manchester United. I don’t support Nottingham Forest." Keane said. "I have more of an insight with how it works at the club and the expectations, but I wouldn’t say that I’m a fan – their results don’t make or break my weekend. I wouldn’t go home going, ‘Get in there, that was a great win.’ I’d be looking at it in a professional way," he added.

Keane concluded his 13-year tenure at Manchester United in December 2005, directly following a confrontation with Sir Alex and his assistant Carlos Queiroz. He secured an agreement to leave the club freely and join Celtic. Although, he wasn't a devoted fan of United, he openly acknowledged that parting ways with the club was emotionally stressful. In fact, he admitted to shedding tears at the same.

The former Red Devils icon has established himself as a prominent figure in punditry after retiring from professional football. This weekend, he will once again be in action during Manchester United's matchday.
