With Musiala’s contract set to expire at the end of the 2025-26 season, both the player and the club have ample opportunity to finalize an extension that reflects his importance to the team.

Musiala's impressive performance this season highlights the importance of securing his future at Bayern. As he continues to elevate his game, there is a growing opportunity for the club to proactively extend his contract and ensure he remains part of their plans moving forward.

Historically, Bayern has faced challenges in retaining key players, such as Toni Kroos and David Alaba, who joined Real Madrid after their contracts weren't renewed. Similarly, Robert Lewandowski's move to Barcelona in 2022 stemmed from the decision not to finalize a new deal with a year still left on his contract.

Musiala, being significantly younger, has been recognized by Bayern as the future cornerstone of the club. However, this does not mean they will make any sacrifices financially. Bayern is committed to maintaining sound financial practices and has consistently achieved record revenues.

Musiala talks about his plans

After the commanding 4-0 victory against Mainz in the German cup, where Musiala scored a stunning hat trick, club director Max Eberl openly commended his exceptional performance.

“I think I’ve taken steps forward,” Musiala said.

“Last year I was a little lacking in goals and assists, but I’m adding that now. I’m also trying to work on getting fitter so I can play lots of games in succession,” he added.

When asked about the possibility of signing a new deal and extending his contract at Bayern, he expressed that while he cannot share many details at this time, he does want to highlight how much he enjoys his time with the club.

“Signing a new deal at Bayern or not? I can't say much about the contract topic. My focus is on the DFB team. But I'm happy in Munich, I can say that”. Musiala added.

Musiala is set to compete in the Nations League matches with Germany, facing Bosnia-Herzegovina and Hungary. Following these crucial games, the Bundesliga will resume with Bayern hosting Augsburg on November 22.
