In an interview with Sky Germany before starting on Saturday night, club board member for sport Max Eberl discussed the status of contract negotiations with 21-year-old Jamal Musiala, who became the third-fastest FC Bayern Munchen league goal scorer in history in only a few short minutes. Eberl also used the opportunity to reiterate sports director Christoph Freund's thoughts about the criticism German analyst Dietmar Hamann had directed at the young player.

With two years remaining on his Bayern Munich contract, Musiala has already drawn interest from several teams, and it's thought that they plan to try to sign him in the summer. Bayern, though, will want to offer the young player a new deal and a higher wage to retain him at the team and fend off interest from other teams.

"We want to try everything to keep him as long as possible," said Bayern president Hainer about Jamal Musiala's contract, which is set to end in June 2026. He has the potential to be the second Thomas Muller, in my opinion. He might spend the next 20 years here.

Over the years, Jamal Musiala has developed into a complete player and has gained Bayern's respect. Every game, his performance has made the spectators happy to watch him. Given that he is already being considered by other elite European teams, it will be intriguing to see if he wants to stay at Bayern.

Jamal Musiala can be the face of Bayern Munich - Max Eberl

We've been in discussions with Musiala over a new deal for months. We'll sit down, we'll talk. We'll do it calmly". "He should become one of the faces of Bayern - like Kimmich, Pavlović, Stanišić. We want to win the UCL and domestic titles", Bayern Munich director Eberl told Sky.

Musiala has started two games this season and scored a goal; however, he had a successful year last year, appearing in 38 games across all competitions and scoring 12 goals and dishing out 8 assists.
