Mike Maignan (28) injured his finger in practice with AC Milan earlier today and, according to L'Équipe, will undergo tests to establish the severity of the damage before the UEFA Euros 2024. The France goalkeeper has struggled with injuries this season, missing matches for his club and nation. His current setback means he will probably not play the remaining games of the campaign for Milan, having already skipped the previous four due to an abductor injury.

This will continue to be a problem for the French team, as despite recent troubles, Maignan remains Didier Deschamps' preferred option between the posts. The 28-year-old French goalkeeper has appeared in only one of the Rossoneri's previous six Serie A games due to a muscular injury. Backup custodian Marco Sportiello was obliged to switch over in the absence and did an adequate job.

Maignan has remained a key member of the Milan team since joining the club from Lille in July 2021, and his outstanding results have continued this season, with 15 clean sheets in 42 outings. With less than a month before the European Championship, the 28-year-old's participation is uncertain.

France have Alphonse Areola and Brice Samba in their squad and both the players might do the job for the hosts in the upcoming tournament if the AC Milan shot stopper gets ruled out by any chance.
